Global standards, assured quality
At Flex2000, certifications play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and innovation of our products and processes. Divided into two main types — management system certifications and product certifications — these accreditations reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence.
Management System Certifications
Management system certifications ensure that our internal processes adhere to the highest international standards. These certifications are issued by independent certifying bodies, which assess and confirm the compliance of our management system with specific standards. Among the certifications we hold, the following stand out:
ISO 9001:2015: Quality management assurance, demonstrating our commitment to customer satisfaction.
IATF 16949:2016: A certification recognized in the automotive industry, validating the excellence of our quality management system.
ISO 14001:2015: A certification that ensures our commitment to responsible environmental management.
ISO 45001:2023: A standard that certifies our dedication to workplace health and safety.
NP 4457:2021: A Portuguese standard that recognizes our capacity for managing research, development, and innovation.
Product Certifications
Product certifications ensure that our products strictly comply with the industry's required standards and technical specifications. We hold over 10 product certifications, but the following stand out:
OEKO-TEX Standard 100: An international certification that ensures our products have been tested for harmful substances, guaranteeing their safety for consumers.
CertiPUR: European certification that, like OEKO-TEX, assesses the compliance of our products regarding harmful substances, reinforcing our commitment to user health and safety.
APCER 5009: A specific certification for medical hospital foam mattresses, validating the effectiveness of our products in preventing pressure ulcers.
BS 5852 (Crib V): A combustibility certification for the United Kingdom, attesting to the fire resistance of our products.
TB 117:2013 (California 117): A fire resistance certification for the United States, known for being one of the most stringent standards.
NF P 92-504: A French regulation that evaluates the fire reaction of construction and decorative materials. It is primarily applied to materials used in interiors, such as coverings or furniture elements. Having this certification means that the material meets the fire safety requirements defined by French legislation, helping to reduce fire spread in case of an emergency.
NF P 92-505: Part of the French fire reaction regulations, this certification is specifically applied to materials that may melt or drip under intense heat. It certifies that the material has been evaluated and meets the required safety criteria to minimize the risk of fire spread in public or private spaces in France.
NF P 92-507: Recognized in France for classifying construction and decorative materials based on their fire reaction. Having this certification means the material has been tested and classified into one of five categories: M0 (non-combustible) to M4 (highly flammable). This recognition is essential for ensuring compliance with French legal requirements and guaranteeing fire safety in buildings.
Brandkennziffer: German index that classifies materials based on their fire reaction, evaluating flammability, smoke development, and dripping. Having this certification ensures that the material meets the fire safety requirements mandated in Germany.
EN 597-1: European standard that assesses the resistance of mattresses and other upholstered products to ignition caused by a lit cigarette. This test applies to materials used in furniture and environments where fire safety is crucial. Compliance with this standard demonstrates that the material is safe and meets the minimum requirements for resistance to small ignition sources.
EN 597-2: Evaluates the resistance of mattresses and upholstered products to ignition caused by a small open flame, such as a match or lighter. This test is essential to ensure safety in residential and commercial spaces. Certification of compliance with this standard indicates that the product has been tested and approved to minimize the risk of fires started by small flames.
UNI 9175:2010: Italian standard that evaluates the fire reaction of upholstered materials, such as sofas, chairs, and mattresses. It primarily applies to products intended for public and private spaces, such as hotels, offices, and transportation. Having this certification means the product complies with Italian legal fire safety requirements and is suitable for use in environments demanding high safety standards.
EN 1021-1: European standard that assesses the resistance of upholstered furniture, such as sofas and chairs, to ignition caused by a lit cigarette. This test simulates real-use conditions to ensure that materials do not easily ignite when exposed to small heat sources. Compliance with this standard demonstrates that the product is safe and meets the fire safety requirements established for the European market, making it essential for residential and public environments.
IMO FTP Code 307(88) Ed. 2010: An international standard established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that defines the criteria for fire reaction testing of materials and components used in marine vessels. This standard is essential for ensuring fire safety on ships, including coatings, upholstery, and decorative materials, by assessing their resistance to ignition and flame spread. Compliance with the code certifies that the products meet global maritime safety requirements.
Additionally, Flex2000 is covered by the prevention regime for major accidents involving hazardous substances, in compliance with the Seveso Directive.
With these certifications, Flex2000 reaffirms its commitment to excellence and innovation, ensuring customer trust and maintaining its position at the forefront of the industry.
